if you dream more than others think is practical;
expect more than others think is possible.

That's the conclusion for the 2 days event.
I was flipping the Starts Times to check if there's any news on the 2 days event when I remembered reports on National Schools event would only be out on Thursday. However something caught my eyes.
"Phelps beats Thorpe's 200m freestyle record"
What the heck? Gosh!
I was never really a fan of Phelps cause I thought Thorpe was more humble and compassionate after reading a particular issue of Reader Digest in 2000. It was during the Sydney Olympics and Thorpe's news and pictures were almost everywhere. Did I mention the reason why I wanted to name my future son 'Ian' because of him? hahaha! Seriously, I still can't figure out why did he retire at such an early age? Com'on at least after Beijing 2008 I thought. He's still going strong and good. It's a real pity to see him leave the pool so soon.
Comparing to Phelps, he always appear to me as an arrogant American. It must be the American thing that made me think that way. So he's like this good-looking American swimmer who's always competing against Thorpe. However Phelps is kind of charming in his own ways. I only notice that after the retirement of Thorpe though. Yes yes, I'm one bias bitch. But being able to beat such a fast record in only a couple of years is indeed admirable. 200m of freestyle is tough. Real tough. It's a speed and stamina thing. 50m and 100m, speed is sufficient to pull you through. But for a 200m race, both components need to be on tip top condition which is hard in water. US night of glory? Nah, it's Phelps night of glory. He deserves every single bit of it.
499 days to Beijing 2008. Though it wouldn't be as exciting without the presence of Thorpe but there's at least something to look forward to with Phelps pursuit for perfection...
It feels real weird to be watching and not being part of the game for the first time. However I still get the heart throbbing and 'butterflies flying in my stomach' feeling when I watched the people whom I'd been training with playing today.
After what happened today, I feel kinda bad for not helping out in NYJC more often than I should. I guess I kinda fail in giving them the support and encouragement that they ought to have today. It has been long identified that the players lack drive and motivation and yet nothing much has been done about it. It's sad to see my dear NYJCians to be in this state...
I don't know if I'm going to be of much help but I'm definitely going down to do whatever I can to savour the situation after this. There's still the Team Event to save...
All the best hunks and babes! =)
*Jukodas are sexy people ok! hehehehe!
Had lunch at Kushin-bo with Val, Chee Lin, Kimmie, Zhixiang and Jes. As expected, 2 out of the 3 botaks were wearing caps. What's wrong with botaks? Pherhaps it's the guy thing. haha! Anyway, the food at Kushin-bo is definitely better than that at Sakae or Suki. But the duration for the entire buffet is real short! Ok, that's what I feel after buffeting with Kitty and Meanie so many times. haha! As for the guys, they definitely look better with a darker tan! Ok, I favour guys with a healthy good tan so I think they look much better now. tsktsk! But a darker tan makes a guy look more polished and healthier right?
That's the headlines for The Straits Times today. Finally! Finally MOE has decided to do something about that god damn programme. I know the intention was good but I feel that classifying 'unfit' people into that shitty programme has created more problems . Why 'unfit' you may question. In my 6 years (from primary 5 to secondary 4) in TAF, I'd seen friends and schoolmates who were super fit yet they're there! Thanks to the chunks of muscles around their body. So when they exercise more, they're building more muscles and gaining weight at the same time!
Personally, I shunned TAF programme as long as I can remember. Not that I don't wanna lose weight in those days but it's more on the pride issue. haha! I got trained in finding all sorts of excuses to skip it! hahaha! But I sort of got caught and was put in detention because of the missing in attendance for 3 times in a row. How lame can it be right? The worse thing is usually those cuter seniors will usually hang around in the hall during recess and TAF programme was held there too. Another 'plus' reason to skip TAF right? hehehehe!
Anyway, hooray to the end of TAF =)
Before I forget again, presenting to you guys my new found love:
Would be helping out in NUS High School for Chanbara lesson from this coming Wednesday onwards. I can't imagine how freaking early I had to wake up then. The thought of it just sucks. Just hope the lesson would be entertaining enough to put me through it. hehehe!
Met up with Sherywn today after Dutch Club. It had been some donkey years since I last saw him and he had become so much fitter right now! Did I mention he's complexion is much better right now? haha! NS has made him better looking man! No pictures for you to see our dearest Zhonghua 2004 Prom King right now cause the ones from Friendster are pretty differnt. Gonna meet up with some of the other POP-ed guys on Thurday for Kushin-bo! Meals with Army dudes week! hehe!
Anyway, a big "THANK YOU" to Jeslin's cousin and brother who had driven us to NTU, NUS and SMU during the weekends =)
Grandma celebrated her 78th birhtday at some teochew restaurant on Sunday. Basically, the food there sucks. It's a mega disappointment! Blehx! Not only the food but the restaurant too. There are like fruitflies flying around our glasses?! Oh man! The thing is that it's not like Uncle Aaron can't afford a better place with much higher quality food! Even my dearest grandma got fed up waiting for the god damn food only when it turned out to be shitty.
nice on the outside
I'm as tall as daddy if you ignore my 3-inch heels

newphew & niece
how true is that...
may.
jaclyn.
I look like the fairer version of her on closer look!
I suppose to most of us out there, "Rejection" is one word that's hard for us to accept . In fact, ever realise that kids out there who usually get rejected by others are actually having problems with their communication skills?
I must say getting rejected regardless of any issue is never a good feeling. I never expect him to break down that day. He's always been very active and outgoing so it kind of give me a shock. I'm not really surprise for guessing his thoughts correctly. Afterall, I'd been through what he had gone through. I must say, it's hard to forget that feeling as it still lingers around when I think back of those days. But if there's no rejection, would people ever treassure acceptance? Think about it people...
...
I don't know if it's me or he's real good in giving people the strength they need.
Thanks.
Yes, I'm freaking jealous. I just don't think that I'd worked less hard than her to deserve what I have right now.
This is so fucked up.
Conclusion:
Life is never fair.
Exactly 13 hours to the announcement of my results.
I'm freaking out and before I know it, I'ld be breaking down...
