excellence can be attained
if you dream more than others think is practical;
expect more than others think is possible.

Karma is a topic that has always remained in my 'grey area' - something that I'm skeptical about. I should be influenced by my mom for believing in it without doubts but I cannot help but question who is there to judge. I do believe there is some kind of higher power up there to explain the unexplainable. However, how do one identify and institutionalized which is the right one? I have been exposed to the teachings of Buddhism and Christianity at a young age and it does get me confuse at times. I supposed that explains the reason for me to be skeptical about religious issues. On the other hand, a higher tolerance level of different cultures. In fact, I kind of appreciate the diversity of it. xoxo Monday, July 27, 2009 xoxo Friday, July 24, 2009 xoxo Tuesday, July 21, 2009 xoxo
Well, the thought came across my mind after I slipped for the 2nd time today. Yes, 2 times. The embarrassment was transformed to more of an enquiry. The journey from P.S. to The Cathay was exceptionally wet due to the downpour and I was in my Billabong flip-flops. Did I mention that I was also carrying a 5kg haversack and 2kg Macbook? Yes, it was DREADFUL. Anyway, the route was still pretty crowded but no one offered to help me out. Alright, I do not mean to sound like some princess and definitely was not expecting anyone to offer me their help. But, the second fall did made me do some thinking.
Are we not suppose to have graciousness and consideration instilled in us? Oh, I have forgotten. We DO need the Singa Lion and Phua Chu Kang to remind us daily to do that (assuming that you are taking the MRT). The campaign may seem successful only because the reminder is staring at us! I cannot help but feel slightly embarrassed every time I stare back at them (PCK and Rosie). We actually need some ridiculous TV characters to educate us. WTH? Ok, on the second though the posters may be doing a reverse psychological effect on the commuters. No matter what it is, I am pretty sure I would certainly laugh my head off if I was a tourist.
